I recently visited ACPHS and Buffalo and was wondering if I could get any information on other pharmacy schools in the northeast such as duquesne, pitt, uri, st johns, uconn, Wilkes or MCPHS. It would be great if I could get their admission stats for out of high school programs (I know most of them are early assurance not guaranteed admissions).

Suggestion: Go to the specific school forums on CC, look for the accepted student thread, and search it for “pharm.” That should give you some indication of what stats people had for pharmacy admissions.

I can’t provide you with current data but can tell you that the 0-6 programs (uri, st john’s) are very numbers driven and it will depend on the applicant pool. They are only going to fill a certain number of slots and that makes sense. Often the school’s website (use their search function for pharmacy admissions) will tell you what the stats were of last year’s class. I remember seeing this for both URI and St John’s in past years.

Duquesne and MCPHS don’t require super stats, just a decent gpa with rigorous courses and test scores around 1200. I’m not sure what uconn and pitt’s criteria are currently, but I’d be surprised if they were significantly different. Wilkes is a bit different…they will accept students with lower stats than the 0-6’s usually require but they have a multi-step application process, require pharmacy recommendations and experience, as well as an interview with the pharmacy school. If you’re interested in Wilkes, you should really get those initial apps in as their class size is limited and fills up quickly!

Here’s the required stats to get into the Pitt Pharmacy conditional acceptance program:

“All students should first submit an application to the University of Pittsburgh,
Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. The School of Pharmacy does not
admit freshmen directly to the professional program. However, the School
offers conditional acceptance to a limited number of high school seniors who
enroll at one of the University of Pittsburgh campuses. Students who rank in
the upper 10% of their graduating class and score 1300 or higher on the SAT
I (Math and Critical Reading sections), with a minimum of 680 in the Math
section, and specify Pharmacy on the application will be offered the conditional
admission. Based on availability of seats, applicants that specify pharmacy
on their application, are in the top 10 percent of their graduating class,
and score at least a 1250 SAT I (Math and Critical Reading sections) with at
least a 650 in the math section, will be considered for conditional admission.
Since only one half of the spaces in the pharmacy class will be allocated for
this type of admission, the number of offers will be limited.”

Does anyone know about how many students are accepted through conditional acceptance each year? How many actually make it into the pharm program after 2 years?
