Out Of School Doesn't Always Mean Out Of Work

Completing college, despite the current state of the economy, is still a wise idea. Completing it cheaply is an even wiser one, and completing it with a degree in a field that is in demand will, at least in the short term, help both the student and a nation’s economy. There are no sure things, of course. No one can predict how some of the largest and most important policy issues will be resolved, or what burgeoning fields of study might need new knowledge–or suddenly become archaic. But as the developed nations of the West require less unskilled labor to go forward, the need for brain power will increase, and the search for it will almost always end with those with a higher education.

<p>There may be pricing problems with the non-elite schools (as cheaply as possible). A lot of that is already being seen with the lower ranking schools. I would not be surprised to eventually see financial issues for the mid level schools (get the cost of the degree in line with the benefit/ability to pay). Investors many not be as easy to lend money to schools that think too highly of themselves (charge too much).</p>
