Out of state admission?

How difficult is it to get into berkeley as an outof state student?

gonna have 8 aps, gpas- freshman:3.7ish w/1 honors; soph- 3.8ish w/ 3honors; junior- 4.2 w/ 3 aps ( and an online honors class).

dont know standerized test scores yet

It's fairly hard to get into Berkeley from in-state, and very hard to get into Berkeleyfrom out of state. Do you know which college or for which major you will be applying? Test scores are a fairly big factor. ECs are of some significance, as are essays.

I got accepted and I'm out-of-state (although I still don't how because my scores were fairly horrible, seriously). I got into College of L&S w/a major of Biology.
Looks like you have a good amount of APs and a good GPA though. =)

do you have state your major when applying?

I will probably to L&S, but right now i am undecided

You don't have to in general, but you do in certain cases, such as when apply to the college of engineering.

If you're good enough to get accepted out of state, you're good enough to get accepted to a good private school like Uchicago or possibly Duke. Go there, you will have a better time.

I am interested in Upenn, but I went to San Francisco during spring break, and saw berkely, and absolutly loved the campus.

Good academics, d1 sports, near a major city; sounds like a great place.

Is cali like north carolina; where 87% of state school students must be state residents?

I don't know if there's an official policy, but it's about that much. Southern California and Northern California are like two different states, essentially.
