so, what do you guys think? and should apply early? or regular?
thankss

Not with your CR score where it is. It is under the 25th percentile, and that is pretty much reserved for recruited athletes, and others “hooks”. Also your GPA is low for OOS. The average admitted GPA is 4.48, with instaters bringing that number down.

Retake the SAT, and try to get your CR score in the 700+ range. Apply 2nd deadline so they can see your 1st semester grades. Do this, and then right great essays and you would have a shot.

Disagree with TB just a little since your UW GPA is a 3.95…that’s certainly competitive as are class rank and ECs…BUT…

Agree with TB about SAT…you really need to get the CR score up as close to 700 or above as possible.

Then, spend a lot of time on your essays, I can’t say this with more emphasis, and “write” the best ones you can…

If you have retaken SAT and improved CR by then, apply early. If not, apply regular after improving scores.

Good luck!

PS, FWIW…just for comparison sake…My D had a higher GPA, much higher overall SAT, great ECs, great essays and recs, was a three sport varsity athlete and her brother was a currently enrolled Morehead Scholar at the time and UNC was the only school she didn’t get into. OOS admission is a tough ticket to punch for most everyone…
