<p>SAT: 2020 superscored (600 CR, 730 Math, 690 Writing).
ACT: 28
SAT 2's: Spanish 500 (haha) math II 600. How big of a deal are these tests? I heard they are only used for placement. I know NOT submitting them won't help me, but I also think submitting them won't, because they are so low. I had a bad day when I took them.</p>

I've been taking weekly guitar lessons since 6th grade
I am also in a rock band with some of my friends in which i play lead guitar. We write our own music and play gigs regularly. We were finalists in 2 state-wide battle of the bands competitions out of approximately 300 bands. </p>

<p>Volunteer hours- not many, probably only like 100 or so hours.

<p>I'm aware out of state is very very very competitive, but I still want to see how I would do in comparison to other out of state applicants. One kid last year had a 2200 SAT and a 4.5 GPA and got waitlisted, so I'm a little unsure.</p>

<p>Applying to UVA from OOS is like applying to Cornell. Admissions are VERY VERY tough. Remember though, UVA uses a holistic approach and will not eliminate a canidate because of poor test scores. I’m not going to comment on your chances, but make sure you write the best essays possible because they constitute for so much at UVA. </p>

<p>i think your extracurriculars are stellar, but the B’s you got in Junior year may end up hurting you. your CR score stands out as a little low, but W and M also offset it with pretty respectable scores too. It’s hard to say definitively, but I’d agree with UVAorBust: write some great essays, and hope for the best!</p>
