Out of State Chances??

I’m currently a junior in Texas and UCF is one of my top 3 choices. Unfortunately I know that it’ll be more difficult to get in, since i think UCF only has a small percentage of out of state students BUT I’m really hoping I can be part of that percentage.

GPA: 3.5 - 3.6 with a slight upward trend since freshman year.
ACT - 26, though I do plan on retaking it.
Haven’t taken the SAT yet but will in August.
I also am editor of my school’s newspaper and secretary of another club, and I know leadership positions sometimes help. I’m in overall about 4 clubs. I know I can get two great letters of recommendations and I think my essay should be good too, though I know either of these only do so much.

It would be really nice to hear others opinions, since my views are a bit skewed with how much tougher it is for OOSS. If anyone knows anything about financial aid for OOSS that would be great too, thanks!

I graduated High School last year, and finished my A.A. in December. I applied in February and heard back in March… I’m from Illinois and got in almost immediately for the Fall semester. My GPA was a 5.6 out of 5 during high school and my GPA at my junior college was 3.6 out of 4. I think you have a great shot at getting in because my ACT score was also just 22 compared to your 26. I don’t know how it will be for you since you’re applying as a freshman and you might apply to a different school at UCF than me. I think you should do fine based on your scoring and out of state isn’t a huge issue I don’t believe. They have 64,000 students so I think you have a good chance! Good luck!!
