Out of State Chances

Another "chances" thread! Out-of-state female in Louisiana, going to apply to LSA or College of Engineering probably early September? My school's one of the top schools in Louisiana, very competitive.

Weighted: 4.12 or so?
Unweighted, I'm not sure how to calculate by UM's standard.
Class Rank: 12/299

AP's:
Taken English Langugage, Calculus AB, US History, Chemistry; Taking Latin, English Literature, Calculus BC, European History, Physics, and Biology this coming school year

No SAT II's yet

GPA's not that great, but SAT and ACT scores are pretty good. Feedback please? Thanks!

To find out your UMich GPA, take out all classes but Math, Science, History, English, and Foreign Language. Then take out all grade boosts. Take out freshman grades. Take out +/- as well. So an A gets a 4, B was a 3, C was a 2. I took the classes you had listed above (except for "Logic", and you had a 3.4 according to Michigan's standards.

Their avg. GPA is a 3.6-3.9 using their method. You're below that, but you have a strong curriculum and ACT/SAT score. You're class rank will also help a lot. Top 4% is impressive. Did you take the AP calculus test? Why aren't we seeing a History course sophomore year? ECs could be better, but no biggie.

60% chance... good match for you. It'd be much better if your GPA was better, but that's the biggest factor.

Sophomore year I took Civics/Free Enterprise as independent study which is the usual for 10th grade and substituted Logic, which is considered a Social Studies class at my school. I didn't take the AB Calculus test this year, but I'll probably take the BC test next year. Thanks for your input.

Your grades aren't that good, but you are ranked in the top 5% of your class, you chose a challenging bunch of classes and your SATs are good. You are a match.
