Out of state from NJ. Deferred. Chances in RD?

Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but Im freaking out. I would murder a small child to go to UVA. When the deferral came, I was heart broken. Im from NJ, applying as a white male from an all boys Prep school.

I had a good teacher recommendation a good counselor recommendation and then a close family friend who went to UVA and her son attends UVA wrote a letter for me. She told me that UVA told her to write more letters because after she wrote for her son, who is an outstanding student, UVA said they really liked her recommendation and encouraged her to recommend more kids from the area.

My essays were solid and many people complimented me on them.
Now I know its very hard from out of state to get into UVA, especially white males from the North East.

After my deferral I emailed the adcon and told him how honored I would be with an acceptance and how I have kept up my hard work, earning my highest GPA ever in the first trimester of senior year.

Can anyone give me an approximation on what my chances would be for acceptance in the regular decision process after being deferred early decision?

Thanks for any input.

-Timmy

Unfortunately, you'll need an act of God to get in. You're literally 1 spot out off the top 25% - which regardless of your GPA will hurt. Defferees have little to no chance of getting in - especially out of state. Maybe your parents know someone who can get a letter from a senator...thats what I ended up doing lol. But then again I was ranked 2, and I had a 1510. I don't know why I was deffered...

anyway - good luck
