Out of State in love with UT

What do you think the stats need to be? We live in CA however own a home in Austin, TX.

The stats for out of state admission are quite high, since such a low percentage of the class is admitted from out of state. In fact, unless you are top 10% of a Texas high school class, or have almost perfect scores/grades, UT can not be considered a safety. I consider it a match for my son, who IS a resident, with strong academics and 1410 old scale SAT. Even with that, he is not assured of a place in the business school, although he did get a call about the business honors program. I would say that 1300 at lease would be needed to even have a chance at UT if you are not a resident. 1400 would be better.

What about in-state, in the top 15 percent of a population of 200?

ACT score...
