Out-of-State/In-of-state?

Sorry if this belongs in another forum…feel free to move this thread if necessary.

I have a question though. I’ve lived in California for my entire life, and have always planned to attending a UC, which I still am sure about. However, just recently my father discovered that his job was relocating him to another state.
Now here’s the issue: our family will have to move at around…September 2011. By then I will already be in college, so if I’m the only one in California, then so be it. However, will I still be considered an in-state resident, though the rest of my family lives in another state? Even if they only recently moved there? If I become considered out-of-state because of my family, then I don’t think my parents could afford the tuition fees and I’d have to find I college somewhere else…which I really don’t want to do.

Hope someone has an idea as to what I should do. Thank you.

email UC admissions to find a direct and accurate answer.

as long as you graduate from a Calif HS that you have attended for three + years, you will be considered instate for tuition purposes.
