<p>From what I can tell on the website, the only merit aid for OOS is $400. Does anyone know if U of WI offers other merit aid for OOS freshmen?</p>
<p>There is more than that but it is limited. Check with your local UW alumni club. Most have their own merit aid. Much of the merit aid at UW is held in the depts and they dole it out to proven students in their programs.</p>

Most clubs offer between awards ranging from $500 to a few grands (some are renewable annually). A few clubs, e.g. Chicago, even offer a few full scholarship to selected local candidates.</p>
