Hello CC!
Indiana is one of my top choices but I am from California and would, obviously, have to pay oos tuition. Other than the regular merit aid, does anyone from here know of an Alumni organization that gives scholarships or any other scholarship opportunities for oos kids?
I will, most likely (99.9% sure) get in, I just need to come up with the money to go.
Thanks!

Charliecurtis5… I am a freshman at IU this year and I am also from Califorina. I received the maximum merit aid for OOS and then I also received scholarships from the Honors College. The total merit aid made it cheaper than going to a UC and comparable to going to a Cal State school. If you have any other questions you can private message me

Feel free to message me as well. I ultimately did not choose to attend IU, but I received the Wells Scholarship which is open to OOS students. It is a full-ride, and it’s definitely worth a shot. Any OOS student can apply, and the directors tried to keep the demographic ratio to 1/3 OOS and 2/3 IS.

The scholarship app is due early though (sometime in mid/late Sept).

Both the IU Foundation and the IU Alumni association offer scholarships to all students. Some scholarships are specifically for instate students, but many are for all students. Last time I heard figures, the IU Alumni association was the largest in the world with over 1/2 million members. There are chapters and affiliates nation and worldwide. Some of these chapters offer scholarships specifically for students from the area. There are 5 chapters in CA.

You will have to search the IU Foundation and the Alumni Assc. websites for the information. It’s a bit early for the applications, but that gives you some time to do research.
