out of state social acceptance?

I’m from California but come from a very traditional white, conservative, affluent country club type family. My mom grew up on large plantation-type house in Virginia which is where I spend most of my summer. I love Ole Miss and have been a rebel football fan since I was young. I’m wondering if anyone could comment on how being from way out of region js like at Ole Miss? Is getting a bid to a middle-top tier house impossible? ps. My dad was a sigma nu, my sis is currently a tri delt at vandy and my brother is a delt at TCU

If your dad was a Sigma Nu at Ole Miss then certainly they will extend to you every courtesy during rush.

As a general rule, guys from out of the South are going to have a very difficult time rushing some of the very top fraternities. But you seem to be familiar with and comfortable with the South, and that makes a difference.

Based on what you have said I think you will find a fraternity home you will be happy with. So come on down!

I don’t see any reason they wouldn’t accept you, and I don’t see how not being from Mississippi would be viewed as a bad thing, considering Ole Miss has a healthy amount of OOS students.
