Out of state student

Hello! I’m currently in high school in North Carolina, but I’m really in love with New York and was really wanting to go to college there. The only problem is that I don’t really have all the requirements needed for NYU, and on top of that it’s really expensive. But I still wanted to go to school for business in New York. So I was wondering if it made sense for me to go to Baruch? Is there a reason why the out of state students made up such a small population? Do you think I’ll have any problems being an out of state student, or is there a better alternative for me?
Thanks so much everybody!

the reason why out of state students are a small percentage could because the school only had a few dorms and they were only for the Macaulay honor students, but they do have more dorms now for everyone. Baruch is known for its business school.

Ah okay, thank you for the answers!
