Im a Junior and am considering Ole Miss. Im from California and was wondering what I should expect from Ole Miss as far as the social life, “culture shock”, southern hospitality, and boys. Is it too much of a change for someone like me?
There are a ton of CA kids at Ole Miss. There are 5 in my sons fraternity. They love it by all accounts.
@californiaac If you come in with an open mind and look for opportunities to get involved on campus, you’ll be just fine. The girl elected Miss Ole Miss this year was from Indiana… It’s not California, but it shows that our students embrace people from all over the US. I know lots of people think we’d be a “closed society”, but our incoming freshmen classes over the past few years have been nearly 50/50 in state/out of state. Come on down and join us!
We are from California and we loved it when we visited, and our son (a freshman) is happy there. The main culture shock was how friendly and helpful the people were, not only on campus but everywhere we went.
