Out of State Students-What do you do with your belongings in summer?

Do you have to empty your room in summer?
Where do you place all your possessions?

Recommendations and suggestions, please...

assuming you have university housing, yes you have to completely vacate your room.

you can either rent out a storage place for however much money, or you can do what i did and give 1 or 2 boxes to a bunch of friends that live in the area. i think i had like 7 boxes of stuff which i was easily able to get back from friends when the school year started.

There are two self storage companies located within 2-3 blocks SE of campus just on the other side of the 110. It might be affordable to split a small storage unit with several other out of state students who are in the same situation.

We used Campus Storage last year. They deliver the boxes to you prior to moving and then you arrange a pick up and delivery time. We had a total of six boxes. For both pickup and delivery they were there exactly at the time promised. Upon delivery the boxes were in perfect shape and they were delivered right to the door.

Do you know how much they charge?

We did Door to Door and it was fairly reasonable. My d shared with her future roommate -but there easily was enough room for one or two more people.

We did the door to door as well. Just remember to read the contract. My son only needed to store for three weeks until his summer housing (apt) opened up. He thought the contract was for 30 days but they charged him for two months since it was one week before the end of the month and one more month for the second two weeks after the first of the month.

Can you tell us the name and phone of the company you used while at USC? Thanks.

Find a friend who lives in the area to store it for you, save a bunch of money.

Does anyone know if any of these storage companies give a better price if you store for one year due to study abroad? Thanks so much.

hey I suggest this company called College Storage and Student Services, they do summer storaging as well as year-round storaging for students studying abroad, so it offers a better price for longer storages. I used it for summer storaging and I thought it had pretty good service.
