Out of State Students

Hi I am an applicant from Connecticut. My GPA is 3.75 academic and SAT is 2000 with 29 ACT. I go to the top public high school in CT. I was wondering first of all what my chances are at UT with such a high population from in state. Also if I get in, what would it be like going to a school across the country with so many people from Texas. Would I feel like an outsider? If there are any out of staters that read this, I would appreciate any input. Thanks so much.

I can’t comment on your chances. However, I’m an out of state student myself, and I felt really comfortable here because everyone is really friendly and open to out of state students.

RMAc,
My d is now a junior at UT from LA area. She loves it. She is in greek system Her house has many OOS students. Her Frosh dorm(Towers) also had many OOS kids. Texans have been warm and inviting. Austin is an amazing city. I have visited over 20 colleges with two kids, and UT is a special place. Great school, amazing spirit and sports, and a world class city for bars, food, and music.
