Out-of-State Transfer Aid

Hey everyone.

It seems like there's still a few days left on my financial aid package release (I have to do some extra verification). I've seen a number of threads about W&M's aid package's for out-of-state student's not being very good.

I trust that W&M will cover as much as they possibly can, but I was wondering if anyone who was accepted as an OOS transfer could post some general stats about their aid package? i.e. amount of grants/scholarships/loans, etc.

My EFC is $0 so I'm definitely stressing.

Thanks,
Godric

Godric, we generally meet about 80% of an out-of-state student’s demonstrated need through a combination of loans, grants and work study. There are no merit scholarships for transfer students unfortunately.

Hopefully some students will respond to your question but remember that every financial situation is different and has its own nuances. This is why we don’t generally quote any “average aid” amounts because that assumes that all students start from the same financial state which of course they do not.

Yes, I learned that every financial situation is different. I’m sure you will read about my woes in the other thread that I posted in.

Thank you for your help and support throughout the admissions process, but unfortunately W&M is not in my foreseeable future as I had initially hoped.

Godric, we’re certainly sorry to hear that but no doubt you have some wonderful other options for transfer and we wish you the best.
