I was just curious what kind of money OSU offers to out of state transfer students. I have heard from some people who go to OSU that transfers don’t get much, if any money at all. Any information you may have will be helpful!

Just so you know, I am a junior year mechanical engineering student with a 3.4 GPA attending a small university in New York, and I’m looking to transfer to OSU. I’m hoping I’ll be able to get some kind of money since out of state is pretty expensive!

From what I’ve researched, only specialty scholarships are available to transfer students. The application goes up sometime in the Fall and runs through February(Apply as early as you can). This is where much of the endowment money for the university is. There is the out of state scholarship, but I believe that is available only to Freshman. Your best shot is the specialty scholarships. Hope this helps! Good luck!

If you don’t get any scholarship money, I wouldn’t recommend transferring to OSU. It’s a great school, but no school that isn’t Ivy League is worth that amount of money from a rational financial standpoint.
