Hello. If you enter UT Austin as an out-of-state transfer, will you pay out-of-state dues for your entire enrollment, or will your status change to in-state after a year or so?

Thanks.

One more question, too... if someone, say, lost their UT EID, how would that person go about retrieving said ID?

thx.

Well, I contacted help desk, and they are resetting it. If anyone has an answer about the tuition, though, feel free to post. thx.

If you're a dependant, your home state is and forever will be where your parents reside.

What if you are not a dependent? (I am not)

Looks like they want you to have paid atleast some Texas taxes. Here's a blurb from http://www.utexas.edu/student/registrar/catalogs/gi03-04/app/appa02.html

Individuals over Eighteen
Statute: Sec. 54.052(e) An individual who is eighteen years of age or over who has come from outside Texas and who is gainfully employed in Texas for a twelve-month period immediately preceding registration in an educational institution shall be classified as a resident student as long as he continues to maintain a legal residence in Texas.

Thanks for the link. The answer appears to be that one cannot be reclassified as a resident after enrollment unless they drop out, work for a year, then re-enroll.
