Out of state tuition in california?

I'm going to cal poly pomona this fall, and I'll be paying OOS tuition (I'm for texas). But my dad is about to move from texas to california this June, so would I be able to be instate tuition starting my sophomore year?

Google is your friend. someone mentioned 18 mon in order to est residency.

And at some Cal publics, the move has to be made before you turn 18. That could work you are really a junior.

Here you go - look it up:

This guide is for the UC’s, but the law should be the same for all state schools.

Look up EACH school. Residency requirements and establishment of residency vary by school in CA.

^ Very true - look it up on the school web site.

OP,

You are correct that you will be a CA resident and therefore pay in-state rates starting your sophmore more… that is you move to CA with your father in June, and attend school there.

Your first year will be at OOS rates.

Prior to the start of your sophmore year, let the registrar/finaid office know your residency status have changed since you’ve met the residency requirements. They will require proof of the start of your CA residency, ie utilitiy bills from June (1st month moved to CA) and the most recent (when you go to the registrar/finaid office), or whatever documents they may require to validate your residency claim.
