Out of State Tuition worth it??

Hi, I'm a WI resident and was just wondering if it's worth $22,316+room/board to go to Indiana University..specifically the Kelley School of Biz. I am also looking at (In-State/reciprocity) UW-Madison and Uminn which also have great biz programs. Is it really worth it to pay $22,316 oos vs. UW Madison's $7188 per yr? Thanks for ur input!

I know a freshman who is actually from the Milwaukee area. He came to IU to be in the Kelley School, though not as a direct admit. He is transferring to UW-Madison after this year because he cannot justify the difference in price.

IU and Wisconsin business are very comparable so if you're in-state for Wisconsin I'd go with that (unless you're like Ibanking-motivated in which case, ehh IU has a slight edge i believe).

Not for a second.

I'd go to UW if I were you, especially with that kind of cost difference.

But I understand a student wanting to go elsewhere for college. My son did not apply to any Oregon schools; although we have a good Journalism program at the University of Oregon, he really wants to leave Oregon for college. So we'll be paying OOS tuition for our son, wherever he ends up.

Zouman, did you get a merit scholarship at IU?

I'm in a similar predicament. I applied to IUB for Kelley School direct admit, and am wondering the same thing - if it's worth it.

On the other hand, my in-state school isn't nearly as good (University of Nebraska). Still, is it worth it?

Walt 99, I see that ur interested in Carlson. jst wonderin...did u get any scholarship from Indiana? I got 8000 but it's not enough for oos. Anyways, i'm jst picking from Carlson, madison, or Indiana. out of the three, madison is the best overall school, indiana-the best biz program, carlson-sucks-but i mite have 2 go there. yea I wouldn't go 2 Nebraska. Go 2 Carlson if u get in there or IU if given $$$.

So where did you end up going, I’m in a similar predicament
