<p>Hi guys, I am just wondering... but about how much does UIUC expect an out-of-state student (from a low-income family) to pay each year? Does anybody have any experience with this? I am admitted but I just can't figure out how they're going to determine the financial package for a student in my situation. Thanks!</p>

<p>Need based FinAid depends on the FAFSA. They determine need based on criteria applied that colleges generally use. What UIUC or any college usually determines to be what is needed is usually less than the believed need by the applicant or the applicant's parents. Then, unfortunately, UIUC does not generally provide 100% of the need determined, and realistically, you are looking more at 80% or less of the determined need and a significant portion of that can be loans. In other words, many can be disappointed by the financial aid they are notified of in April.</p>
