Out of state?

How hard is it to get into UF as an out of state student?

I'm liking the Gators more and more :)

For Regular Decision 2,

it's hard for everyone! And I don't think it's harder for out of state to tell you to the truth. Since, they make so much more money on out of state students. I met a kid at a shop in the town of Gainesville from NJ who got in with a 2.8 or so and a 1200, lol. I was lmao.

Thanks for your post. I'm only a junior though. Does applying early help at all?

Well UF will probably try to direct itself to more OOS recruiting, so it may not be the case that getting in OOS is as hard as it used to be. Just keep a high gpa, do well on the SAT's and you should be okay. I mean what else can you do? :)

I was told by an admissions officer OOS acceptance rate is between 5 to 10%,so it is alot harder to get in out of state...no question about it

It's probably easier. I live in New Jersey, and I was really surprised when I got in. I had a 1240/1930, a 3.7uw/3.9w GPA, and excellent ECs but I didn't even bother to send recs in.

I remember an admissions officer said the percentage of accepted OOS students is lower because fewer apply, it has nothing to do with difficulty.

OOS shouldn't be harder. It's not like TX schools or UNC where so much of the in-state population is allowed in, leaving OOS students with really tough admissions.
