Out of State

Does Univ. of Maryland heavily favor in-state students over out of state students?

very much so

yes they do

UMDCP accepts @70-75% from IS, the rest are OOS, so of course they favor IS. That being said, many IS apply which makes it comp., you might have a more fighting chance if you are from OOS b/c they want diversity...i.e. Idaho, TN, OR, HA etc...not NJ/NY because there are alot of OOS that apply from there, which means from that area you need to be the top of your game.

Q: Is it harder to get in from out of state?
A: The admission committee considers the same factors for both in and out-of-state students. Typically, the percentages of admitted students from in-state and out-of-state mirror the percentages of our student body.

thanks. I'm from PA, so not very far, but..
