Being from New Jersey, I was wondering if the school is clearly dominated by Indiana residents. Also, if I attend IU, is there a greater chance of me getting accepted into their medical school?

IU is about 68% students from in state. There are a lot of kids from Chicago (like me) and a fair amount from NY as well, but there are students from all over the place. One of my roommates is from Jersey actually, and he doesn’t seem to have a problem with it. Although he seems to think he’s picking up an accent from being here…

My Californian daughter lived in a rented house last year with four good friends from the dorms. One was from Indiana, and the other three were from Texas, New York, and Colorado. She has really enjoyed meeting people from all over the country and world – which is a stark contrast to California schools that are 90%+ in state students.

Favorability is usually given to resident students for most state medical schools. The following link has some more info.
