Out of these schools, how good are the PRE-MED programs?

UCDAVIS
UCSD
UCSB
UCI
UH Manoa
UOP

wow that looks a lot like my list of schools. you must cali boy/girl. lol i want to go into pre-med as well. from what i know UCSD has a pretty solid program. next to sd would be irvine and davis. i know UOP has great pharm and dental programs. i dont think sb is that great for pre-med...correct me if i am wrong. and i dont kno anything about UH Manoa.

personally i want to go to davis...i know i will get in and i have many other reasons.

can anybody add to my analysis...i would like to know as much as JEUBEDA.

Yeah, I'm from Cali but I go to HPU. I'm asking because my girlfriend who is also from Cali wants information on these schools because these are her choices.

Thanks a lot.

how about pomona college vs. USC?
what is percentage of their students get into their first choice med schools

A tiny fraction. Because even at the top undergraduate schools filled to the brim with the brightest students, a tiny fraction of kids get into "their first choice" med schools.

A better (and still extremely flawed) number would be the percentage of kids who get into any medical school at all.

Better yet would be direct measurements of the intangibles: ease of pursuing extracurriculars, access to meaningful research projects, strong advising.

The best way I can think to measure it is to compare a school's average GPA in the sciences to the average BCPM GPA of its admitted premeds, and the average MCAT score for all takers from that school to the average MCAT score of its admitted premeds.

That information is never available, so I don't even know why I mention it.

JEUBEDA: why did you choose to go to HPU? since you're from Cali, why not go to a UC school?

I lived in Cali all my life and I vacationed in Hawaii a few times and I loved it, so I decided to study there.
