This is a weird request but does anyone know of a summer theater program aimed at college kids that has a summer-camp (as corny as it sounds) vibe, preferable a rural environment, being outdoors, etc.
I’m not sure what I’m looking for, but appreciate any ideas. Obviously preferably programs that are still open for registration. Non audition would be a plus but it’s not a big deal.
I live in Washington state.
I know Young Actors’ Theater’s Camp (YATC) in California has a summer-camp vibe (in the Santa Cruz mountains, sleep in cabins, etc.). But, it’s only through age 18.
I know of YPTP and CGST in WA/OR, but they also only go through age 18/12th Grade. Stagedoor in NY as well only goes through summer after HS graduation. And I think French Woods in NY goes to age 17. I personally have never heard of any for college age students.
The Performing Arts Project (held at Wake Forest) has one program aimed at ages up to 25. Think the application deadline passed. Also, some of the stage combat intensives are also more for college aged students (used to be at UNCSA, not sure where they are held this year).
