outdoors-oriented activities

As someone who loves being outdoors, Berkeley's urban location is less than ideal. Are there any places in/around Berkeley where I can get my nature-kick?

Within walking distance:

Berkeley’s Botanical Garden

The Fire Trails

Drivable/Bus-able:

There are TONS of amazing trails at Tilden Park

^I agree with all of the above. The botanical garden is beautiful, and the fire trails are amazing.

One of my favorite things about Berkeley is easy access to both the urban environment and beautiful picturesque nature hikes. :)

Many students don’t know about this stuff because they don’t leave the perimeters of the school. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
