KEIZER -- Lance Salsgiver could be president.

Well, actually, he figures he'd most likely take the investment banker route. But as fallbacks go, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes outfielder is set.

You see, Salsgiver has a degree from Harvard. Yes, that Harvard. And yes, they do play baseball there. It's not all for rocket science or grooming politicians.

So before Salsgiver takes on the professional elite, the Volcanoes' resident brainiac -- his degree is in economics, to be exact -- is going to try his hand at making the major leagues......."

"He's a real good guy," fellow outfielder Matt Weston said. "He's just like everybody else on the team. You would never guess he went to Harvard. He's a good guy all around....."

(Ed. note: With an .094 batting average, he better polish up the resume!)

".094 batting average"

sounds like he will be using that Harvard degree sooner than he wished

lol .094 isnt all that bad lol jk

Well, George H.W. Bush had to fall back on politics after his first baseman days at Yale ran their course, so I guess Lance is in OK company. (For that matter, frustrated pitcher Fidel Castro had to fall back on politics too!)

He should go the route of Paul de Podesta and get a job in a front office.
