I was looking on the website, and I didn't see a Wellesley Outing Club listed on the Student Organizations page. Is there one? If so, how intense is it (I'm not ready to commit huge amounts of time, but it would be nice to know I had the option to go camping/hiking on the weekends)? Much appreciated.

Hi,
Wellesley organizations don't really update the websites, mostly because they communicate through Firstclass, our email system. It's WONDERFUL, but the downside is that prospective students don't always get an idea of all the orgs and events at Wellesley (obviously becaue they don't have access to the email system)...
Anyway, yes we have an outing club. I always see them posting on Firstclass about trips they're taking, during breaks and random times in the semester. They go hiking and camping, and I think they went skiing sometime in the second semester. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not much of an outdoorsy person, :) but I hope that helps some. Most orgs at Wellesley aren't intense unless you want to make them intense. In that case, you'd just put more time into it, maybe hold a leadership position, coordinate the events, etc... These leadership positions btw are easy to obtain at a small college like Wellesley. (yay!)

Ah, awesome. Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely keep that in mind when I'm looking at the student orgs webpage.
