Being the irresponsible person I am, I forgot to notify Stanford of my outside scholarship before July 30! If I fax the notification as soon as possible will they still apply it to my bill? Advice desperately needed.

chill chill.

they don't care if you didn't notify them. i didn't in the beginning of last year. you can call and they'll tell you what to do. but don't worry, they'll apply them whether you notified them or not. but call anyway and you'll probably be able to mail or fax it to them. just wait until monday though.

Thanks! That's a relief. I'll definitely call them on Monday. Just one more question: will they tell me to bring the check directly to the FinAid office when I come on campus in September or will I have to mail it?

Depends... you should ask when you call. Scholarships vary. I have one in which I get a check in the mail, and I take it to the cashier to be put towards my bill (or alternatively, I put it in my bank account if my bill has been paid =p). I have another scholarship in which the organization is billed directly and pays Stanford directly; I don't have any dealings with that. Asking Stanford would be a good place to find out how it'll work for you.

i got my checks in the mail, and i mailed them in. (one even had the wrong date on it... it said 2007), but i think they worked that out. you can do either im sure.

Oops, sorry, I just realized I didn't answer your question =/ but I guess ajimmykid did.
