Outside Scholarships...sophomore year and beyond...

Here's my question of the day...

D has been applying for several outside scholarships - some national, some local. She has been fortunate to receive a $1500 Elks one so far. With any luck, we hope for one or two more to help with freshman year costs. However, most of these outside scholarships are one-time, freshman year - they are not renewable. From any previous experience how do you figure this into your costs and deciding if your school is going to be affordable years 2 and beyond? A couple of scholarships could add up to a few thousand dollars - a great help that first year, but truly would be missed the following years...

Hope that makes sense and thanks in advance for any input...!

I may know some. What's your D's gpa? What college does she attend? And what are her other stats?
