Outside Scholarships

<p>If you were to recieve a scholarship from a community organization but they choose to give you a check directly as opposed to mailing it to the college, are we under any obligations to report it to the college, or can we use it for other college expenses outside of tuition (ie plane tickets).</p>

<p>Well, you're supposed to report it to the school. I guess theres no way for them to tell if you dont, but technically, thats whats supposed to happen. Also, every scholarship has different rules about what it can be used for. It seems like if they just gave you a check, it can be used for anything. Others can only be used for tuition. Id ask the scholarship committee or something.</p>
