<p>I am posting this for a friend of my son's. He has e mailed financial aid, but has had no response. Does anyone know if UConn has a limit in the amount you can recieve in outside scholarships before they begin taking it from your financial aid rather than the student owed portion?</p>
<p>Outside scholarships first replace grants given, then loans given, and then anything received on top of that doesn’t affect student aid given by the school.</p>

<p>Those restrictions would be per individuals outside scholarship. If it isn’t UConn aid, then UConn doesn’t have a say on how it is used.</p>
