Outstanding Application Materials

I just checked in to my Penn Portal account and it says in the checklist that I haven't submitted my 2 recommendation letters from my teachers yet... However, I sent it using the common app around mid-December. They haven't sent me any emails/messages about it.

Does this mean that the admissions officers have already rejected my application? Or have they just not updated the website?

Anyone in similar circumstances?

I had the same problem. I called the admissions office about a week ago and they told me that they were still sorting out some of the information. It wasn’t until about 3 days ago, when I checked my penn portal and saw that they finally received my recommendations. Either sit tight and wait or call to double check that they still have mail to sort through. Good luck!

So did I, but I just waited and a few weeks ago they appeared. It said on the site that they will contact you if they’re missing anything, so I would personally just wait. If you still don’t have them as listed in a week or two I would call them then, but not now. (It’s up to you though.)

I’ve been looking into this obsessively as well, for the same situation. I called the admissions office once during late January and once during mid-February. Both individuals told me not to be concerned because they are still sorting out the documents, and not to worry unless you receive and e-mail or letter specifically requesting the missing documents.

If by next Friday it still is not cleared, I’ll probably be calling them again.

Just wanted to say that the Outstanding Application Materials on MyPenn have finally been cleared.
