as reported by the Admissions Director at Through The Red Doors last weekend. He did not say how many were accepted, but I guess they aim for a class of 550-600 or so (?)

I don’t think applications being up is unique to Muhlenberg. Visited Grinnell last week with son, applications up 50% from last year. Similar stories at other LACs, though maybe not to that degree. And while this year’s hs senior class is large, it’s not big enough to explain these jumps. Apps are up at many, many schools. I think the explanation is more kids are applying to more schools, 12 or 15 applications seems to be common now, it is made so easy with the Common App. I think it will get harder and harder for schools to get their yields right. Particularly at LACs, with small enrollments, we may see more schools over- and undershoot.

My dh, dd and I had a fantastic day on Saturday.
My dd had visited 3 times prior and each time it was cold AND heavy rains. SOO happy she finally go to be there on a nice day to get more of a feel for the school.

Walking out she told my dh and me that she loves us but can’t wait to go. I guess we did our job :)

I was looking for the “Like” button lovestotravel. Glad she is feeling good about it.
