Over running the word count...

One of my application says that they would like me to answer a question in a 200-300 word essay. Unfortunately I have 335 words on my rough copy... I know I really should edit it but I really can't without rewriting the entire thing over again... Will the admissions office look at this in bad light?

yep, it tells them that u cant follow directions

Besides that Senay, I was wondering how much it affects it.

Don't go over the word limit, its as simple as that.

Just try and shave a couple sentences off, Shouldn't be that hard.

just don't go over it, take out sentences that you don't really need. that's what i did to shorten mine

If you seriously can't then don't. No ones going to count the extra 335, but try and follow the rules if you can.

If there is nothing you can remove and leave your essay with the same "message" it does, then don't. But an even better essay will have the same "message", but is within the word limit.
