I was just curious about what you guys think about your weighting system at your schools. What kind of weight do you get for AP or Honors and is it insanely high or almost nonexistent, or fair for that matter? At my school, AP and Honors are weighted the same and only get .05 more weight than “college bound” (generally fairly easy) classes. You can pull off straight B+s and a few As in AP/Honors and get outranked by a kid getting As and maybe an A+ in nonhonors/ap.

My old school was 4.0 for regular classes, 5.0 for honors, and 5.33 for AP....it was kinda rediculous...My new school is 4.0 for regular and honors, and 5.0 for AP, pretty normal...

P.S. Both schools are extremely difficult...the "honors" is not just a label...

it's interesting because schools have different standards for a's too. My school classifies anything above a 90 as an A, while most teachers round from 89.5, but there's other schools that count 90-93 as B's. so i guess that really deflates the gpa. at my school an A in a regular class is a 4.0 and an A in a honors/AP class is a 5.0. :/

Wow... our school.. it's something like, 1.0 for avg, 1.10 for "collegebound" and then 1.15 for honors/ap.... (a little skewed or what??) This then converts to the 4.0 (uw) 4.5 w) scale
