Overall cost of Florida (in-state) schools VS private?

I know I have seen posts from some of you who are from Florida, but have considered or opted for out-of-state or private colleges.
When we look at the Net Price Calculators of several of the private schools, it appears that our actual costs at those schools might be reasonably close to the sticker price for a an in-state Florida school.
In Florida, we would then also have Bright Futures that would help with costs.
My question is, for a student who would qualify for selective private schools, are Florida schools LIKELY to offer additional scholarships/financial help that will make the Florida schools more financially appealing?

I just don’t feel that the quality of education in Florida (or the Southeast/deep South)is at the same level as other regions. Yes, we have lower taxes, but we don’t fund education to the same extent. My son got into UF, but he will be going to college OOS as he has been accepted to schools that he actually liked better and have a much stronger program. He is eligible for a Bright Futures scholarship but doesnot want to stay in state, and my wife and I agree with his decision.
