I didn’t even question my 9th grade classes
and try to switch my schedule, I got a B in English, yes English, the language I speak. -_- I’m now afraid my overall chances of getting into a good college are gone, I’m going into 10th grade, I want to take advanced classes but how do I convince my counselor to let me take them, and should I study for the subjects I want to swap with the advanced courses so I’m not behind? I’m also taking a 3 period a day class which I might be able to get college credits for so I have to swap courses I can not add any. I took the following courses last year: Algebra 1 (even though I knew it), First Year English (knew it), Personal Finance, Culinary Arts, French 1 (knew it), Microsoft Office, Science, Civics (waste if time) I don’t know how to explain the other two but basically they were the English and Math prep. I’m taking this year English 2, Biology, Health, Gym, Geometry, 3 period class, and another form of Civics I think, another problem of mine is the teachers never teach so I don’t learn much. Any help and comments are appreciated.
Ah I forgot french 2
I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking.
Though I will say that if none of your teachers “ever teach” then there’s a huge problem… either with you or with them. You listed 10 courses for last year. That’s an awful lot of teachers who aren’t doing their jobs according to your explanation.
And if 9 teachers who “don’t teach” awarded you an A, then you may not have as tight a handle on the coursework as you need to.
If you want to take honors classes, you need to get A’s in the college prep classes.
If you don’t know what is preventing you from doing that, then talk to your teachers about what you need to work on.
There are 3000 colleges in the US…there is one for you.
First, B in freshman year is fine. Please do not continue to feel this way for every non A you receive or you will not have a fun experience. why are you taking another civics if you thought it was a waste?
I had a teacher freshman year not do her job, we all just stick with it and got D C Bs and those who constantly complained who got an A. I ended up with a B both semesters, but one was a C and she moved it up yay! She would always lose our work, lost my notebook so we got 0s. Had to do assignments 3 times and hope she didn’t lose it.
Point is, not all your teachers will be good. There are times where you will deal with things you hate and have to get through them.
