Overall/Major GPA in resume

Depending on the position, SAT/ACT scores can be worthwhile to include. Most consulting and IB positions ask for that information.

If someone scores in the 99th percentile, then I don’t see a problem including the score. It isn’t going to hurt.

I would only include your overall GPA if is higher than 3.7

Anything over a 3.3 is worth including…probably anything over a 3.0.

A 3.7?! That’s the kind of post that CC is notorious for having…

Always include your GPA if it is over 3.0. Something in the 2.6-3.0 range is debatable. Below 2.6, leave it off. Include your major GPA if it is above 3.0 and greater than your overall GPA.

just round them both to 4.0 ( GPA: ~4.0)

My major GPA is a 3.74 while my overall GPA is a 3.64. My resume says specifically “Major GPA: 3.7” and does not list my overall GPA. I list my major GPA because, at the graduate level, some companies will only hire those with a 3.7+ GPA. I’ve worked at a well-known Fortune 500 tech company without incident.
