Overlap between Honors section and Activities section of Common App

I am very confused what should be put in the honors section and what should be put in the activities section.
EX. Activity: Carried out astronomy research. Siemens Semi-finalist for this research
Honor: Received Siemens Semi-Finalist award for astronomy research.

Obviously I’m going to elaborate on each one. But doesn’t this seem repetitive??

My advice would be to mention the honor breifly (ex: Siemens Semi-Finalist award for astronomy research) but elaborate on the EC activity without referring to the honor itself (ex: I conducted a research on… during which I …) and so on.
