What colleges would be comparable enough to Brown for Brown to match its finaid package?

I believe Brown says it will match other Ivies plus Stanford and MIT.

Other than that, though, if you got good financial aid (not merit based) from another college, definitely let them know. They may not match it, but they might increase their package to keep you (Georgetown, Tufts, UChicago, Northwestern, Amherst, Swarthmore, etc).

I asked this on another thread, but what if the EFCs (parent/student contribution NOT including loans) are the same for both colleges, but the amount of loans from Brown is higher although there's no workstudy the first year at Brown, but I'm worried about the next three years also.

Brown will match financial aid packages from any other Ivy League school and from MIT and Stanford. In the past I have known them to match for CalTech and Duke as well.

What does "match" mean? loan for loan, grant for grant, efc for efc?

Does anyone have any book suggestions that cover finaid topics?

bump........

Why don't you just call and ask?

Monday's too far away, I was hoping someone w/ past experiences could share some info, especially info that finaid officers might not want prospectives to hear (such as whether the grants that are added to match another college's package will end up being loans next year)
