Overload On Server

I called UCSD and asked about the UC server situation, and they informed that if more kids start getting onto the server(Which is 100% likely) there might be a chance that some people won't get a chance to submit their apps. by the 11:59 deadline.

I thought I let everyone know. Keep your fingers crossed everybody.

I recall a few years back they extended the deadline when they had server problems.

Yeah something was def wrong w/ those servers
I started at 7 pm yeseterday and wasnt able to sumbit till 2 am 11/30
very nerveracking! do it quick !

I asked her about that possiblity of extending the deadline, she said UC doesn't plan on doing so because the server isn't having problems. She said to many students waited until the deadline day to submit their app. and are slowing down the server.

The funny thing is, she asked why I was so worried about the servers if I already turned in my app. Well it would suck for my friends that haven't turned their apps in.

It would suck for them, but less competition for us, and its better for us who have submitted it (yeah its mean, but hey, competition is pretty bad anything to ease it is good yeah?)

I wonder if you would say that if you didn't submit that today at 2am....

I wonder if you would say that if you didn't submit that today at 2am....

No, I wouldnt, yeah i realized taht was mean true

I actaully submitted my app on Thanksgiving. And believe me, I am thankful that I was the only one on the server at 11:00 at night.

The crazy thing is that this year, was the year that they wanted everybody to use the website to do their app. (Correct Me If I am Wrong)

I feel really bad about some people might not getting a chance to turn in their apps, like my FRIENDS.

Wow, after seeing the server locked up again, I'm really glad I stayed up until 2AM last night (this morning)?

Best of luck to those still trying to submit. I think last year some people managed to get theirs in at the last minute (literally).

jesus what do i do know? If the server is overload why wouldn't they give us an extension?

OH CRUEL WORLD! They let me into the server, and I put in my last essay and clicked submit but ERROR! GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

just to make u guys feel better, i just called my friend and he has just started his second essay. he still needs to get his first one proofread though. he hasnt started cal state or uc apps. he is so screwed.

Is it possible to hand-deliver or mail paper applications? Do they need to be recieved or just postmarked by today?

Is it possible to fax apps? What's their fax number if you can?

Paper app has to be postmarked November 30th. I just got three calls in the last 30 min from friends that have been online for more then 7 hours. This is crazy

I dont think they allow faxed apps, (correct me if im wrong) but its either mail or online sorry dude

Look @ previous posts

sorry guys diddnt want to say it that way. anyways sorry

"It would suck for them, but less competition for us, and its better for us who have submitted it (yeah its mean, but hey, competition is pretty bad anything to ease it is good yeah?)"

UC can’t issue an extension unless the servers have technical failures. When I talked to the lady at UCSD she said that it’s because to many students are on at one time and not of a tech. issue. I don’t know what to say. But I do hope that the servers do experience some tech. mess up so you guys have more time.

As far as faxes, UC don’t allow faxed apps. Only web generated or paper app. Sorry

danielhagos: 7 hours????????? omg that is crazy

hmm anyone a good hacker? =P jk
