Overload Schedule for a Freshman?

Hey everyone! I posted a thread like this in the "College Life" forum, but I thought I might get some more specific advice from my fellow Billikens.

So here are the classes I am planning to take in the fall. (Just so you know, I am in the Pre-Law Scholars program, the Honors Program, and the Global Villa LC/FIG. I am planning on studying International Studies/Political Science.)

Intro to Law (2 credits, O'Halloran)
U101 (1 credit, Weathers)
Intro to Forensic Science (3 credits, Stevens)
Honors Crossroads (3 credits)
Politics of the Developing World (3 credits, Boden/Baden? I know his first name is James)

My problem is that I want to continue studying Spanish while also beginning to study Chinese. Those classes would be Span 315 - Oral Communication and whatever the introductory Chinese class is.

Sorry for all the background info, but what I would like to know is - would I able to take all those classes (18 credits) and still do reasonably well/have a social life? In case it helps, I had a 4.0 GPA in high school and received a 36 on my ACT. Thanks in advance for your advice!

18 credits wouldn’t be a problem with that schedule, trust me. U101 is a joke pretty much (I dropped it because it was stupid), and Crossroads won’t be too much work either. It’ll be an easy A, as long as you do the work, and there honestly won’t be that much of it.

Thanks for your response! I was beginning to wonder if anyone ever posted on the slu board at all. :)

I agree with Tonytet. U101 and Crossroads wont give you any problems, neither will Intro to Forensic Science. DEFINITELY take Chinese and Spanish. The language program at SLU is really fun, and there are some great profs for SPAN315. Good luck and have fun!! :)
