<p>i think you look great but take a look at last years decision thread. i was shocked really at the rejections. i think williams knows exactly what they are looking for and it's obviously not just perfect grades. i would never venture a guess on what exactly that is but i hope you have it.</p>

<p>While the adcoms at Williams are to be commended, in the end, they are humans as well as the rest of us. From the stories that friends tell me, the admissions office goes to great lengths to assemble the best freshman class possible. Do they make mistakes? Yes. fwiw, very few 17-year-olds are extraordinarily accomplished (being a student here, I might be jaded with regards to the definition of "extraordinary"), so I think past a certain point, admissions looks beyond grades, etc. to try to gauge you as a person. What drives you? what values do you hold? what events in your life have made you the person you are today? Those are the questions to which an adcom would be looking for an answer.</p>
