Hello all, I have visited many colleges during my junior year and hav a few more visits scheduled for this summer. I am pretty sure I know which is my top choice school. As of right now, I think I am going to apply early there. My guidance coucelor and my parents think I should do an overnight visit there before I interview. The only problem is I am pretty shy and nervous about spending a night with a stranger and hanging out with other kids I don't know. I would probably do it on a Sunday night and avoid the party scene, but I am still a bit skeptical. Anyone with experience hav advice? Any advice is appreciated tho

You’re applying to college and you’re reluctant about being with people you don’t know?

I’ve got some news for you: If you go to that college or ANY college next year, you’ll be surrounded by strangers when you get there. If you’re so uneasy around people you don’t know, I’m not sure college is the right place for you.

With that said, I’m going to take a guess and say it’s more a matter of the whole “college scene” that’s intimidating to you. This can be a scary process, but be brave and you’ll get through it.

But let’s get back to basics: Which college are we talking about here? Are you sure you don’t know anybody there? Not even someone who graduated from your school last year?

It is a small liberal arts college in the northeast. It turns out the admissions office doesn’t do overnights in the fall, but my mom knows someone who goes there, so I might stay with him.
