I am so incredibly excited right now! I'm staying at Pomona on the 20th and 21st. My interview is on the Friday, and right now I am currently thinking about questions to ask at the end of my interview. I couldn't get an alumni interview since I live in Southern California, but at least this gave me an excuse to go to campus! Yeah... I'm excited.

On the off chance you don’t get a “good” host/hostess, be sure to inquire as to what is going on on campus. I have heard of two girls from my community who have had less than exciting overnights. My son is a sophomore at Pomona and there is always a lot going on at night, if not at Pomona then at other campuses. I dont’ think Pomona does the best job of selecting hosts/hostesses and therefore some guests find it boring. I reallly hope this does not happen to you because it really is a fabulous place to be!!!

I agree with the above post, it really depends on your hostess. If you get a less than great host, don’t let them ruin your overnight experience.

thanks for the advice! but don’t worry, some alumni from my school go to the claremonts and i bet they’ll make sure i’ll have a great time! :)

I’m so jealous! Wish I lived close by enough for an overnight visit… be sure to let us know how it goes, please :)

will do, unenlightened! yeah, i’m really lucky to rep san diego but i hear that pomona accepts less californians so there is a downside D:

my visit went great! everybody was really nice and i met some really great people, and they were all so smart. they all said i could email them with any questions i had. the campus is beautiful just as expected. i probably walked more than i ever have in my whole life. i swear i have shin splints now. my interview went really well too. it lasted an hour and my senior interviewer offered to drive me to the greyhound station when i told her i had to walk, so i think she liked me. i also discovered scripps which is arguably the prettiest campus i have ever seen. but i’m still pomona all the way! :D

That sounds great, thanks for the info! I visited during the summer and didn’t get to meet many students, so it’s good to hear nice things about the student body. :)
