I got accepted to Brown and would love to go to ADOCH, but unfortunately I have to be at a competition on the 22. So I’m going to be driving to Providence on April 19 and visiting Brown on the 20th. I want to stay overnight on the 20th because I’m leaving on the 21 to get home. I’m also going to be visiting Penn earlier that weekend and am planning to stay overnight there, so I would definitely want the same experience for Brown, especially since I’m leaning towards Brown. However, the site says that overnight hosting is fully booked. Is there anyway I can get them to let someone accommodate me?

It would be possible for me to stay overnight on the 19th too, but I think that would be improbable because it’s the weekend.

It’s just that I know that overnight visits are fully booked, and the site says they can’t accept requests now, but decisions weren’t even out until 4 days ago, so I only recently found out if I was accepted or not.

Is there a better place I can ask?

On the Brown Class of 2013 Facebook group, current students have offered to put up prefrosh who aren’t invited to ADOCH (early decision applicants) or can’t schedule an official overnight. Try posting a thread on that, maybe you’ll get an offer or two. It’s definitely not endorsed by Brown, but I doubt they would frown upon it that much either. And based on my experience with an overnight at Brown last fall, you wouldn’t be missing anything if you did it unofficially, either way you just hang out with freshmen for a night and get a feel for campus life.

Okay, thanks.

That is Spring Weekend though, so just keep that in mind…

I thought that was 17-18.
